Ensemble at the RIDM

It was a unique pleasure and privilege to do the sound recording of this faboulous  project.

All dressed in black and impeccably synchronized, we know them as an anonymous collective. So who are the men and women of the Orchestre Métropolitain de Montréal? Jean-Nicolas Orhon filmed the orchestra’s members for a year while they prepared for their first European tour, led by conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin. The filmmaker melts into the background, observing their rehearsals, interaction and incredibly precise work as closely as possible. Documenting the adventure becomes a way to create more nuanced portraits of the artists and the passion they share. An original and patient look behind the scenes, revealing the intense work that goes into perfectly harmonious concerts performed with apparent ease.
